Armed robbers steal £800,000 worth of jewellery from London home

British police have appealed for information three months after £800,000 worth of jewellery was taken from a London home during an armed robbery.

In January this year, three men barged their way into the property in the exclusive St John’s Wood area threatening an adult and two young children with large knives, London’s Metropolitan police said.

The suspects, who were wearing masks to cover the lower part of their face, demanded to be taken to the safe, where they took the jewellery.

They fled the scene in the victim’s car, having also taken handbags, high-value watches and mobile phones.

Police released images of the jewellery on Friday in the hope that anyone who might have been offered the stolen items will contact them with information.

Detective Constable Piers Gilbert, of the Metropolitan police, said the incident had had a “profound effect” on the victim’s life.

“We are now appealing for people to think about whether they have been offered this stolen jewellery and if so, to come forward and help us with our investigation,” he said.

“Similarly, anyone who thinks they may have witnessed this incident or anyone acting suspiciously in the St John’s Wood area around this time is asked to get in touch."
