Aalborg's case of mistaken identity

The Italian referee Matteo Trefoloni appears certain to be in trouble with Uefa after sending off the wrong player in Celtic's 0-0 draw with Aalborg. Ten minutes remained at Celtic Park when the Greek forward Giorgios Samaras was brought down by Aalborg defender Michael Jakobsen just outside the area and Trefoloni reached for his red card. The Aalborg manager Bruce Rioch, said: "It was very unfortunate, a real body blow for Michael, who was fantastic with the rest of the boys. " The Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli hailed the performance of in-form striker Alberto Gilardino in his team's Champions League who scored twice in the 2-2 draw at Lyon.
