TAKHAR, AFGHANISTAN // A suicide bomber targeted a joint convoy of Afghan and Nato-led forces today in northern Afghanistan, killing at least six police officers, an official said. Largely active in the south and east, the Taliban have stepped up their attacks in recent months in some areas of the north, which was regarded as relatively safe. One soldier from the Nato-led force and 11 Afghans were wounded in today's attack in Kunduz province, near the border with Tajikistan, officials said.
