Monsoon festival brings bull racing to India's paddy fields - in pictures

Farmers participate in the race before ploughing their fields in the belief it will bring good rain and a better harvest.

More than 100 bulls took part in the two-day event in Herobhanga village, 85km south of Kolkata.
