A suicide bomber killed at least six people in the Somali capital of Mogadishu on Friday and injured another eight when he blew himself up at an ice cream shop.
The attack was reportedly claimed by Al Shabab, the extremist group allied with Al Qaeda that frequently attacks the capital and the rest of the country.
The Gelato Divino ice cream parlour is located near K4 Junction in the heart of Mogadishu, not far from the international airport.

The attack comes on the same day the acting US defence chief visited Somalia, where American troops have supported the government's efforts against Al Shabab.
Acting Defence Secretary Christopher Miller met military personnel and "reaffirmed US resolve in seeing the degradation" of terrorist groups that threaten the region, the Pentagon said.
US President Donald Trump is widely expected to order a withdrawal of most or all of the 700 US troops based in Somalia before he leaves office on January 20.
