ABU DHABI // Fifty secondary school and university students have been chosen to join a two-month summer programme at Emirates Red Crescent.

The training programmes will take place at various offices of the organisation to help increase the youngsters’ practical skills and experience.

ERC will also introduce the Emirati students to the nature of its humanitarian work.

The programme is part of the association’s policy to help school pupils and university students gain more practical experience and help them enter the workforce with confidence, said human resources director Ahmed Ibrahim Tunaiji.

The young Emiratis will have to familiarise themselves with the ERC’s provision of aid to vulnerable groups and those affected by disasters and conflicts, Mr Tunaiji said.
