AJMAN// Work is to start early next year on a Dh1 billion residential complex in the emirate.
The 1 million square metre development, which is expected to be completed within two years, will be named after Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces.
Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman, said the city’s name would honour Sheikh Mohammed’s efforts to promote the country at home and abroad, state news agency Wam reported.
Mohammed Al Mheiri, chief executive of technical affairs at Ajman Municipality, said the project was one of the largest ever from the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.
The residential complex will contain 729 houses, which will be granted to Emirati citizens.
“The residential city will be provided with modern infrastructure and all public services that will serve the complex’s citizens such as mosques, shops and schools,” he said.
“These projects are contributed to promote the family stability and social development in the country and aim to delight the citizens.”
