DUBAI // A German woman has been cleared of threatening her former boss and demanding he pay her Dh3 million after she was sacked.
Prosecutors at Dubai Criminal Court said N P, 31, threatened company manager F M, 48, and his family after he fired her as his personal assistant.
The Iranian said she failed to provide proof of her qualifications, accessed his laptop and “started making problems with other employees”. After warnings, F M suspended and then fired her. But on September 3, he said she phoned him asking for €500,000 (Dh1.95 million) in compensation for firing her.
“She threatened me that if I didn’t pay her she would give away work secrets to my competitors,” said F M. He said he reported her to police after she started calling his friends and employees as well as his family.
But F M dropped the charges and the court acquitted N P.
