DUBAI // A woman smuggling 4.5kg of cocaine in her underwear and between her thighs was detained at Dubai International Airport because she was walking strangely, a court was told.
“She seemed tense and scared so I stopped her and asked my female colleague to search her,” a police witness said.
The woman, 42, from Zambia, had hidden some of the drugs in a corset and in her underwear and about her legs, the officer said.
“She confessed it was drugs but she said she didn’t know what type of drug it was and that she carried it from Brazil to take to Zambia in return for $5,000.”
The woman appeared at Dubai Criminal Court on Monday morning and admitted smuggling drugs at the airport on April 16.
A verdict is expected on September 14.
