DUBAI // A woman has been arrested after her partner was found stabbed to death in their flat in Al Nahda.
Police say the woman, 32, a Russian expatriate, admitted to carrying out the attack on Saturday, and trying to slit her wrists afterwards. She then called police.
The man, an Arab national aged 38, was found lying on a bed in the flat with several stab wounds.
The woman and the victim were drunk at the time of the incident, police said.
She told police she had repeatedly asked her partner to marry her. She had also given him large sums of money over a period of years.
Closed-circuit TV footage from the couple’s apartment building showed them arriving home at different times over Friday night and Saturday morning. The case has been referred to public prosecution.
