Winter aid from UAE to reach 14,000 Syrian refugees

Food and health parcels as well as heaters and blankets will be sent to refugees in camps across Jordan.

Thousands of Syrian refugees are to be sent much-needed supplies in time for winter as part of an initiative by Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, state news agency Wam reported.

Food and health parcels as well as heaters and blankets will be sent to 14,000 refugees in camps across Jordan.

The Emirates Red Crescent will work with the UAE Embassy in Oman, the UAE Relief Team, the Jordanian Red Crescent Society and a number of international organisations, to distribute the aid to the refugees.

Sheikha Fatima is also Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and President of Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.
