Fish stalls in Ras Al Khaimah markets were empty on Monday. A primary local source of fish, all fishing activities in the emirate were halted for three days due to unfavourable weather conditions, the RAK fishermen association said.
Khalifa Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Association, said the standstill impacted both the income and equipment of 700 fishermen.
He added that there are 1,400 registered fishermen in Ras Al khaimah who rely on the trade for income and who need adequate support during such times.
