Voting for the Sharjah consultative council elections will be extended from two days to four days – January 28 to 31.
Two hundred candidates, including 43 women, will compete for half of the council’s 42 seats.
The remaining councillors will be appointed by Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah. Six seats are spread across Sharjah city, while nine others are distributed between Al Dhaid, Khor Fakkan and Kalba.
There are two seats for Dibba Al Hisn, while Al Hamriya, Al Batayeh, Mleiha and Al Madam have one each.
