ABU DHABI // Visas for a visit of 90 days can now be obtained through the Ministry of Interior's e-Services, either via the ministry website www.moi.gov.ae or its smartphone app.
Maj Gen Khalifa Al Khaiaili, acting assistant undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs, said on Sunday that the move aimed to reduce applicants’ time in applying for the entry permits, which require sponsorship from a citizen, resident or investor.
The Government also aims to reduce the number of customers to its centres by 80 per cent by 2018.
Lt Col Matar Kharbash, head of the e-Services department for Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs, said: “In order to issue a long-term single entry visit visa for 90 days, with the sponsorship of the public sector and free zones, the applicant must fill out the e-form and attach a copy of the sponsored person’s passport, with a validity of not less than six months.”
Applicants for a long-term 90-day visit visa who are sponsored by someone in the private sector will also need to attach the licence and eGate card.
Applicants sponsored by a UAE or GCC citizen must complete the e-form and attach passport copies of the sponsor and person sponsored, valid for a minimum six months.
If the sponsor is a relative and a resident, the e-form should be attached with a copy of a certified marriage contract, or birth certificates for children, and a certified tenancy contract or electricity bill, with a bank security deposit of Dh1,000, proof of health insurance, a passport copy of the sponsored person valid for a minimum six months, and an eGate card with a copy of the sponsor’s passport.
