DUBAI // The Etihad Museum is finished and will open on National Day, December 2, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has announced.
"Dear brothers and sisters, by the grace of God an edifice that is historic for our country is now complete," tweeted Sheikh Mohammed, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
"Over the past two years we have built a museum celebrating the United Arab Emirates' Union: a historic achievement.
"The Etihad Museum tells the story of our Founding Fathers and our journey in the UAE. It will open on National Day."
The museum is based at the site of Union House, or Dar Al Etihad, where in 1971 emirates' Rulers signed a declaration that marked the formation of the UAE.
