ABU DHABI // With the bird’s eye view that comes with the job, window washers have found themselves catching more than just a nice glimpse of the landmark skylines of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Most windows turn into mirrors during the day, with tinting to reflect the Sun.
“The inside can see outside, but you can’t see inside; but at night, it’s the opposite,” said Alain El Tawi, director of sales and marketing with Gecko Rope Access Specialists.l
Despite early notices and warnings by property managers that their workers will be scrubbing a building’s windows, he said people can sometimes be caught off guard.
“We’ve had complaints,” he said. “Mainly with hotels.”
“Our guys have seen naked people, but more serious incidents, no.”
