DUBAI // A severe weather warning has been issued across the country for the weekend with motorists warned that dust storms will affect visibility on the roads.
“The weather will be dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy,” said the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.
Residents in Dubai experienced thunder and lightning as rain lashed down on the emirate on Thursday night.
There will also be a chance of rain over different parts of the country on Friday.
The weather bureau urged people to stay away from the sea and wadis, owing to high waves in both the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
The centre said that the fog will lift by tomorrow morning, at least in western parts of the country.
The maximum temperatures expected in internal areas are between 32°C to 38°C. The minimum will be around 14°C to 21°C.
Coastal areas will be cooler with maximum temperatures of around 26°C to 33°C and minimum of 15°C to 22°C. The fog will gradually lift by tomorrow morning, especially in the west, the weather bureau said.
“The weather will become better on Saturday. However, there is a possibility of rain in the northern and eastern regions of the country, especially in the morning.”
