UAE weather: Strong winds and poor visibility expected

Strong winds, poor visibility, thunder and even rain have been forecast for parts of the UAE.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has said hazy weather and low connective clouds are expected to develop by afternoon over the eastern mountains.

Strong winds are expected, causing dust to blow and resultant poor visibility, which might dip to less than 1000 metres in some eastern areas.

However, temperatures will remain high in internal parts of the country, touching 48°C. Temperatures in coastal areas will reach 43°C and it will reach 36°C in the mountains.

Moderate to fresh winds causing blowing dust and poor visibility at times are expected in some areas.  The wind speed may reach upto 38 kph in the internal parts of UAE.

The sea is expected to be rough in the Straits of Hormuz and the Oman sea.

Relative humidity is likely to increase by night and early Wednesday morning over some western areas.  In the coastal areas, the humidity will reach 95 per cent; it is expected to reach 90 per cent in internal areas.

The lowest temperature recorded on Tuesday morning was 25.3°C at Jebel Jais at 2.15 am.
