UAE weather: Hot spell set to arrive

Temperatures could reach 45°C tomorrow.

Cloud cover and sunny spells across much of the country will keep temperatures slightly cooler than of late before a hot spell hits the UAE on Tuesday.

Peak temperatures will be 37°C in the capital today, and 36°C in Dubai – but could reach 43°C tomorrow and will feel more like 47°C, with 48 per cent humidity and 25 kilometre an hour northerly winds. Temperatures in Dubai are likely to reach 45°C by Wednesday.

It will be partly cloudy and hazy at times on Monday across the UAE, with a chance of fog and mist forming in some areas.

Overnight humidity is likely to top 70 per cent in Ras Al Khaimah, where it is expected to be hot and sunny for much of the week but it will feel slightly cooler at 36°C in eastern coastal areas.

Early morning traffic was flowing smoothly in Dubai and Sharjah, although a broken down truck on Sheikh Zayed Street in Abu Dhabi was blocking the right lane near Hazza bin Zayed Street with drivers advised to approach with caution.
