DUBAI // Extreme heat and blowing dust will make it an uncomfortable day for anyone suffering respiratory problems in the emirates today as temperatures are forecast to reach 41°C in many places.
Winds exceeding 30km per hour will blow dust into the atmosphere combining with a dry heat and 25 per cent humidity in Dubai to cause potential breathing difficulties for asthmatics.
The capital will be two degrees hotter still with peak temperatures expected to reach 43°C, and a minimum of 30°C overnight with continuing blowing dust throughout the day.
A similar weather scene is forecast for the Northern Emirates, while the east coast will be hotter still at 44°C, but there will be clearer air as winds will be calmer at about 13km per hour. Temperatures will feel more like 51°C.
