UAE weather: Haze and dust forecast for the weekend

ABU DHABI // Hazy, dust and high temperatures have been forecast across the country this weekend.

The weather will be hot to very hot, particularly inland. Skies will be partly cloudy over the eastern and southern areas and convective clouds may form in the afternoon and evening, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology.

Moderate winds will help freshen conditions at times, causing blowing dust and reducing horizontal visibility over exposed areas of the country.

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman over the weekend.

Thursday’s weather will be hazy in general with temperatures continuing to be high: ranging from 28°C to 47°C inland with lows of 28°C and highs of 47°C along the coast.

The mercury will drop a little in the mountains with temperatures between 25°C and 36°C expected.

Humidity along the coast will reach 60 to 85 per cent, with drier conditions of 30 to 65 per cent forecast inland and in the mountains.

Those heading to the beach or out to sea can expect rough waters in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman, particularly on Thursday evening.
