SHARJAH // Fog blanketing some parts of the county on Thursday morning, causing visibility to decrease to less than 500 metres.
Abu Dhabi Police issued warnings to early-morning commuters to drive carefully and refrain from using hazard lights as fog engulfed some of the external roads.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said conditions will be partly cloudy throughout the day with relatively low temperatures across the country.
Temperatures will range between 14°C and 26°C inland, 15°C to 28°C along the coast and 11°C to 22°C in the mountains.
Moderate north-westerly winds will become fresh in the afternoon with wind speeds reaching 45kph in the coastal areas.
Seas will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman by the afternoon.
Humidity will peak at 95 per cent inland and on the coasts.
Similar conditions are expected over the weekend with foggy mornings turning to pleasant afternoons with light breezes keeping temperatures cool.
