DUBAI // Dusty conditions will continue on Sunday and over the next few days with hazy weather predicted over coastal and internal areas.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology has said it is watching the development of a depression southeast of Oman that could intensify by Monday.
“The latest satellite imagery and observations indicate that a depression has formed about 1,230km southeast of Masirah Island [in Oman],” the centre said.
Fresh winds were causing dust to blow across southern, internal and eastern areas, reducing visibility to 2,000 metres in cities including Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology.
The conditions were likely to continue until Tuesday.
Cloudy weather and moderate winds would cause humidity to increase at night and through to the morning hours on Sunday and over the next few days, forecasters said.
Fog and mist were likely to accumulate in the western coastal areas in the morning due to humid conditions.
The maximum temperature could reach between 45 to 48°C in the internal areas with coastal regions staying between 36°C to 44°C and mountain areas between 29 to 38°C.
The lowest temperature recorded in the country early on Sunday was in the Jais mountains at 23°C, according to the NCMS.
