After some surprise rain on Sunday, the cloudy skies began clearing on Monday. The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology reported temperatures of around 18°C at sunrise on Monday, pleasantly low for this time of year. Forecasters warned of some sea winds but “nothing significant” and said Sunday’s shower would not be repeated in coming days, only more rising temperatures. Expat Nadia Alawi, from Jordan, said: “This weather has been amazing. It’s so nice for a change to have seen such cloudy skies and such changeable weather. I hope we have some more rain before the hot summer hits us.” Emily Smith, from the UK, said: “The rain was such a nice surprise. Being in the desert, you don’t expect to see that in May. This time of year you just start feeling the temperatures rising but that was definitely a relief.”
