UAE weather: brief interlude from heavy rain which will return on Thursday

ABU DHABI // A sunny, pleasant day is forecast for Wednesday with thundery showers expected across the country again by Thursday night.

Partly cloudy skies with light winds are expected with temperatures rising slightly following the heavy rain and chill on Tuesday.

Temperatures will range between 17°C to 27°C along the coast, 19°C to 29°C inland and 12°C to 24°C in the mountains.

Humidity will increase overnight leading to potential fog in some areas. Mist was reported in northern areas of the country and over Sweihan and Al Ain early on Wednesday, reducing visibility to less than 1km.

Seas will be moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman.

Thursday paints a similar picture throughout the day but with heavy rain forecast by the evening and set to continue throughout the weekend.

Wind speeds will pick up, particularly over the sea which will become rough.

Forecasters expect “unstable conditions” with towering clouds leading “different intensity of rain over scattered areas”.
