Sharjah to Dubai traffic was heavy from early on Tuesday morning, causing delays for motorists. A crash was reported on the 611 on the Sharjah/Dubai border southbound, with vehicles backed up to the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing club. Heavy build-ups on the E11 from Safeer Mall in Sharjah down to the Al Qiyadah metro stop in Dubai also caused problems. Long tail backs were also an issue on the 311, with huge delays starting at Sharjah's industrial area 12 right down Dubai airport. Meanwhile in Abu Dhabi, a crash citybound close to the Maqta Bridge resulted in delays back to Sas Al Nakhl Village. This was later followed by an accident on the Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Truck Road, resulting in two lanes being blocked. It was also slow going on the E20 near Abu Dhabi Gate City and on Salam Street heading the city. Dubai Metro riders took to social media to complain of red line slow downs, forcing some commuters to seek alternative means of transportation. It was reported that the metro resumed after several minutes.
