A series of accidents delayed motorists first thing this morning and early traffic queues caused problems on arterial roads across the country.
An accident occurred on D89 Airport Road which slowed traffic in Al Rashidiya and Nad Al Shaba areas.
More tailbacks were reported on D61 Hessa Street near Jumeirah Village Circle and Sheikh Zayed Road near Al Sufooh area.
Heavy traffic caused tailbacks in Dubai near Al Twar, Muhaisnah, Mirdif, International City and Al Mamzar.
Another accident took place in the industrial area 1 in Sharjah causing congestion both in the emirate and for drivers heading towards Dubai.
Slow moving traffic was reported on Al Ittihad street leading towards Dubai. Delays were also expected in Al Qusais.
Motorists heading from Sharjah towards Dubai were caught in long queues on Al Ittihad Road.
In the capital, drivers faced few congestions on the usual hotspots, including E20 Abu Dhabi-Sweihan road and 16th street nearby Khalifa City.
