The UAE Space Agency will host the first Global Space Congress in Abu Dhabi next year.
The conference will bring together more than 600 private, public and educational figures from the space and aviation sectors with the aim of promoting the worldwide space industry.
Some of the government organisations attending include Nasa as well as the French, Japanese, Italian, and Romanian space agencies. Local organisations taking part include Yahsat, Thuraya, Etihad Airways and Khalifa University.
Dr Khalifa Al Romaithi, chairman of the UAE Space Agency, said the international forum would provide the ideal platform for the sector’s leader.
“Abu Dhabi is well suited to host an international forum that will address the major developments happening in the space industry worldwide,” he said.
The event will take place on January 31 and February 1 at the St Regis hotel on Saadiyat Island.
