The UAE space agency is stepping up its drive to train Emiratis to work in the industry.
Sheikha Al Maskari, the agency’s chief corporate officer, said it had devised an awareness campaign to engage Emirati youth to become pioneers in the space sector.
Ms Al Maskari said a large number of Emiratis was needed and the agency had devised an awareness campaign to engage youngsters. It has launched a learning and training programme and has developed a partnership with Airbus Group for the Little Engineers workshops.
The agency has also entered into co-operation discussions with universities including Khalifa University, UAE University, Sharjah University, The Higher Colleges of Technology and New York University Abu Dhabi.
It aims to help improve science curricula as well as maths, technology and engineering, to help Emiratis develop skills and be better prepared to join the industry.
