UAE's royal families join in marriage

Ruling families of the UAE attended two royal weddings in Al Mushrif yesterday, joined by another hundred couples from other emirates.

DUBAI // The ruling families attended two royal weddings yesterday in Abu Dhabi. The weddings in Al Mushrif were attended by representatives from the royal families of each of the seven emirates.

The first wedding was between Sheikh Dhiyab bin Mohammed bin Zayed, who married the daughter of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, the Ruler's Representative in the Western Region.

The second was between Sheikh Zayed bin Saeed bin Zayed and the daughter of Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed, the National Security Adviser.

Among those who attended were Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah; and Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed, the President's Representative.

In addition, there were crown princes of the remaining six emirates, as well as representatives of the rulers, members of the diplomatic corps and other dignatories.

A hundred couples from other emirates joined the royal wedding, although it was not clear whether they married at the same time.

Next week, 53 Emirati couples are expected to tie the knot in a mass wedding at Zabeel Parki n Dubai.
