The Dutch minister of foreign affairs has claimed that three planespotters who were detained in the UAE at the end of January have been released from prison.
Frans Timmermans confirmed the release of the men on his Facebook page.
According to Dutch news website nltimes.nl, the men were each given sentences of 54 days for photographing "forbidden objects in restricted areas".
They are believed to have travelled back to the Netherlands on Tuesday.
