The UAE has ranked first in the world in public trust in government, business and innovation, according to the Edelman Trust Barometer for this year.

It rose five places from last year to top the world with a trust index of 85, covering faith in government, business, media and non-government organisations.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, welcomed the ranking.

Sheikh Mohammed said progress had become an action plan for the Government to provide decent living to all, achieve economic success for the UAE and bring happiness to its community.

“We are proud to be part of a Government that has earned the trust of the whole world.”

The UAE topped the government trust index with 90 per cent, 2  per cent more than last year, and came first in business trust with 85 per cent, compared with 82 per cent last year.

Sheikh Mohammed said the report proved the Government’s efforts to improve innovation has started to bear fruit.

He said it was a spur to continue with the UAE’s progress.

“To maintain the achievements, we must double these achievements and efforts and harness the potential in the best service of the people,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
