ABU DHABI // A national response and emergency plan will be implemented across various humanitarian missions as part of a understanding signed between the National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority and the Emirates Red Crescent.

A joint taskforce will be formed following a meeting at the authority’s Abu Dhabi headquarters, and will create strategies to achieve security through management of emergencies.

“The ERC attaches paramount importance to partnerships with other local stakeholders to ensure a better future for humanitarian work and provide a decent living to targeted groups whether in times of peace or in times of emergencies internally and externally,” said Mohammed Al Falahi, ERC secretary general, according to the state news agency, Wam.

Jamal Al Hosani, NCEMA director general, said joint programmes would help protect life and property. As part of the agreement, the NCEMA will provide teams of trainers and instructors to teach the ERC’s aid workers crisis and disaster management skills.
