The UAE and Afghanistan have signed an agreement over the mutual allocation of land in Abu Dhabi and Kabul for the construction of buildings to house diplomatic missions.
The agreement was signed by Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Abdul Fareed Zakaria, Ambassador of Afghanistan to the UAE, at the ministry's office in Abu Dhabi.
Mr Al Mazrouei emphasised the importance of bilateral relations between the UAE and Afghanistan and means of strengthening and developing them, national news agency Wam reported.
The UAE embassy in Kabul suffered some damage when terrorists set off a huge truck bomb in the city's diplomatic district in May, killing more than 150 people in what was the deadliest attack since the overthrown of the Taliban in 2001.
About 460 people were wounded although no staff from the UAE mission were hurt.
The UAE condemned the attack and expressed solidarity with Afghanistan's government and people.
