ABU DHABI // The Emirates Red Crescent is continuing its efforts to support flood victims in Malaysia.
Last year, the flooding affected thousands of homes in several parts of the country, with Pahang state the worst-affected area.
A UAE delegation, chaired by Fahad bin Sultan, has handed over cash to more than 500 affected families and will later distribute furniture in coordination with the UAE Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
The delegation also held a meeting with Malaysian authorities in the presence of Abdullah Mattar Al Mazrouie, the UAE Ambassador to Malaysia. The UAE representatives have set up the arrangements for carrying out maintenance work on affected homes in coordination with local governments and other authorities.
Prince Abdullah bin Sultan, Shah of Malaysia, said the UAE aid affirms the strong bonds between the two peoples.
