Abu Dhabi Civil Defence crews attended two separate fires on Monday in the industrial area of Al Ain.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of Civil Defence, said the operations room received a report at 2.59am about a fire in a carpentry workshop, warehouses and other shops.

Later in the morning at 10.30am crews attended a fire in a car repair shop and a supermarket.

Lt Col Al Ansari said teams from 11 civil defence stations helped control the fires and prevented them from spreading. Investigations are still under way to determine the cause of each incident.

Lt Col Al Ansari urged companies to adhere to fire prevention and safety measures in warehouses, factories and engineering firms.
