DUBAI // Three men attacked another three men with knives after an accidental bumping of shoulders at a supermarket, a court heard on Monday.
Two Emiratis, A M, 24, and S E, 18, and 33-year-old H K, from the Comoros Islands, also punched the three Saudis at the Rigga supermarket on October 27 last year, Dubai Court of Misdemeanours heard.
Records show that a police patrol was dispatched after a report was made about a knife fight between six men after midnight.
“We arrived and eyewitnesses pointed at a Nissan Maxima which, when we stopped, the three defendants were inside, their clothes had some blood on them,” said policeman A A.
He added that the men and the car were searched and some tablets were found in S E’s possession. All three were detained and referred to the criminal lab to undergo drug tests, after which S E was charged with consuming mind-altering substances, in addition to the assault charge against all three.
The three Saudi men were referred to Al Baraha hospital for treatment, records stated.
All defendants appeared in court and H K denied the charge, while the other two confessed and said they will reach a settlement with the victims.
The next hearing will be on December 28.
