RAS AL KHAIMAH // A 21-year-old Emirati died in an accident on Sunday morning after he smashed his car into a water tanker that was watering plants on the roadside.
The collision happened on Airport Road in Ras Al Khaimah, said Colonel Ali Saeed Al Alkeem, head of Traffic and Patrols at RAK Police.
The young man tried to decelerate and deviate from the tanker to prevent the collision, Col Al Alkeem said, but it was impossible as he was driving too fast and he rammed into the water tanker.
The traffic chief said the emergency services rushed to the scene and the man was rushed to hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.
Col Al Alkeem conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased and urged motorists to abide by speed limits at all times and to be cautious, to ensure their own safety and that of others.
