Motorists faced some delays in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, especially on Sheikh Zayed Road heading into the city towards the Sheikh Zayed Tunnel.
Roadworks are continuing on the tunnel, which connects motorists to the Corniche.
Drivers in the city were also on day three of the speed buffer ending. Now the displayed speed is the actual limit.
Traffic on the UAE's roads generally continues to be more free-flowing as schools are on their summer break.
Commuters from Sharjah into Dubai still face tailbacks on major approaches but not massively.
Some delays were reported on the E11 and 311 coming from the northern emirate into Dubai.
The congestion was mainly on the 311 from Sharjah's industrial area, but the traffic cleared up well before Dubai airport.

Nigel Farage told Reform's annual conference that the party will proscribe the Muslim Brotherhood if he becomes Prime Minister.
"We will stop dangerous organisations with links to terrorism operating in our country," he said. "Quite why we've been so gutless about this – both Labour and Conservative – I don't know.
“All across the Middle East, countries have banned and proscribed the Muslim Brotherhood as a dangerous organisation. We will do the very same.”
It is 10 years since a ground-breaking report into the Muslim Brotherhood by Sir John Jenkins.
Among the former diplomat's findings was an assessment that “the use of extreme violence in the pursuit of the perfect Islamic society” has “never been institutionally disowned” by the movement.
The prime minister at the time, David Cameron, who commissioned the report, said membership or association with the Muslim Brotherhood was a "possible indicator of extremism" but it would not be banned.

It was created in 2008.
Speed:
THAAD missiles can travel at over Mach 8, so fast that it is hypersonic.
