DUBAI // Four accidents were reported in Dubai and Abu Dhabi early on Tuesday causing traffic in those areas to come to a near standstill.

The two accidents in Dubai occurred on Al Khail Road and on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road near Nad Al Sheba.

In Abu Dhabi a minor accident was reported on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street creating tailbacks for several kilometres.

Traffic slowed to a crawl towards Sheikh Zayed Bridge on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, near the Police Officers Club and near the Ministries complex along the same street, as well as on Dhafeer Street.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport tweeted that an accident on Sheikh Zayed Street after Salama bint Butti Street had been cleared but heavy traffic remained.

The department issued a warning for motorists to be cautious after a lorry broke down on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street before Rabdan street that caused two lanes to be blocked off.

In Dubai heavy traffic caused bottlenecks near the Ibn Battuta and Discovery Gardens area along the Gardens Boulevard Street.
