ABU DHABI // Commuters faced delays on Monday morning in slow traffic caused by accidents in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Abu Dhabi Police warned drivers to expect delays after an accident on the inbound lanes of Khaleej Al Arabi Street before Mussaffah at 8am.
Dubai Police took to Twitter on Monday to advise drivers to be extra cautious on Sheikh Zayed Road after an accident on the motorway at the Lamcy intersection near Al Karama, before heading towards the Garhoud Bridge.
There were three accidents on Al Khail Road. One was near the Dubai Mall and Business Bay, according to @TrafficDXB.
A second happened at the start of Al Khail Road when entering from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, near Jumeirah Village Circle, towards Dubai. The third occurred on the Abu Dhabi-bound lanes after Al Marabea Street intersection.
An crash opposite Dubai Silicon Oasis, towards the capital, caused delays on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, as did one before the Dubai-Al Ain Road intersection, heading south.
On Umm Hurair Road, between the Karama central post office and the World Trade Centre, an accident caused congestion for those heading towards Abu Dhabi.
An accident on Airport Road before the tunnel towards Deira added further delays for commuters.
