ABU DHABI // Flights in and out of Kathmandu's airport resumed on Monday after powerful aftershocks caused disruptions on Sunday.

Two flights operated by Fly Dubai departed Monday morning from Nepal’s capital, landing later in Dubai.

The airline hopes to operate four additional flights in and out of Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday.

“It is quite congested with everyone trying to send their recovery aircraft,” a spokesperson for Fly Dubai said.

The airline warned travellers of the possibility of lengthy delays, due to ongoing ground operations in Kathmandu.

A representative with Air Arabia said all of their flights, which included three return trips out of Sharjah, are expected to operate on time.

Etihad Airways, which partners with Jet airways in servicing Nepal, added an extra round trip flight on Monday, in addition to its twice daily service to assist passengers.
