The Traffic and Patrols Department at the central operations of Ras Al Khaimah Police has urged road users to exercise greater caution while driving at this time of year because of changes in the weather.
Rainfall and medium to strong winds that carry dust and sand can lead to low visibility, The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology said. Col Ali Al Alkim, director of Traffic and Patrols, said RAK Police had coordinated with the Public Works Department and Public Services to form patrols and remove fallen tree branches and debris that may impede traffic flow.
The statement comes after several traffic incidents being recorded in RAK over the weekend, due to rainfall, that resulted in some minor injuries.
