Several young drivers arrested for drifting in Al Ain

Traffic police warn that reckless drivers will be dealt with severely and urge families to instil good driving practices in their young motorists.

ABU DHABI // A number of young motorists have been arrested for reckless and car acrobatics, Abu Dhabi Police’s Traffic and Patrols Department said.

The drivers were arrested in Al Nabagh, Al Ain, and referred to prosecutors.

Colonel Abdulla Al Shehi said hazardous traffic offenses will be dealt with severely and that police patrols keep an eye on areas where young people gather to practice drifting.

Major Salah Al Hamri, head of Al Ain Traffic Department, called on families to monitor their children and encourage them to respect traffic regulations and warn them against doing stunts, for their own safety and that of other motorists.
