ABU DHABI // An intersection has been opened at the extension of Al Falah Street, near the buildings of the Municipality and the Ministry of Economy, as part of a series of projects intended to improve the flow of traffic.

The junction, situated between the two main intersections of Sheikh Zayed Street–Al Falah Street and Al Falah Street–Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Street, will improve traffic, enhance the network link and ease access to and from Sheikh Zayed Road, an area that has experienced high traffic intensity.

The Abu Dhabi Municipality project includes a revamp of the entire street, with the addition of a U-turn lane to serve motorists heading towards Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street. Traffic lights have been fitted in both directions. The revamp will include the addition of acceleration and slowdown lanes to and from the perpendicular street at the junction, re-dotting of street markings, and introduction of humps and pedestrian crossings to improve traffic safety, so that all lanes will be more visible to users.

Lamp posts will be fitted with LED bulbs and the necessary traffic and directional signals will be installed.
