More than 630,000 people have made use of Dubai Metro information kiosks since they launched four months ago.

Fifty kiosks, placed in 23 stations along the Red and Green lines, provide commuters with information including the names and locations of other stations, ticket prices, journey planning, bus service timings at metro stations and a list of offences and penalties.

The service has been nominated for the Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart Government Award in the Best Internal Cooperation category.

“The launching of the metro information smart kiosks concords to the vision of our wise leadership to transform the Emirate into the smartest city in the world within three years,” said Abdullah Ali, the CEO of the Roads and Transport Rail Agency.

“These machines are bilingual, in Arabic and English, and have large touch-screens rendering them easy-to-use.”
