RAS AL KHAIMAH // A man was killed and another injured in a runover incident in Ras Al Khaimah on Wednesday afternoon.
The men, aged 44 and 28, both from Asian countries and who work for a RAK government organisation, were carrying out road maintenance when they were run over by a 33-year-old Emirati woman.
The motorist lost control of her vehicle and ran over one of the men, then crashed into a bulldozer and hit the other worker, said Col Ahmed Al Naqbi, acting director of the RAK Police traffic and patrol department.
She then hit a lamp post and the vehicle flipped over onto the road.
The 44-year-old was killed on impact and the injured man was taken to hospital, Col Al Naqbi said.
He warned motorists not to drive at high speeds, especially on curves, and emphasised the necessity of following traffic laws, reducing speed and paying attention on the roads.
