Man flown to hospital after crashing into Umm Al Quwain road barrier

A man has been flown to hospital after he sustained severe injuries in a traffic crash in Umm Al Quwain.

The 29-year-old Emirati was driving on the 311, or Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, towards Ras Al Khaimah when his car veered off the motorway and crashed into the central barrier.

The crash took place near exit 90 at 10.20am on Monday.

Col Saeed bin Aran, director of the traffic and patrols department at Umm Al Quwain Police, said the driver was taken by air ambulance to Sheikh Khalifa Speciality Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah.

No further information was disclosed about the man's condition.

Col bin Aran called on people to adhere to speed limits, pay attention to the road and wear seat belts.
