One person was killed and 16 – including 15 schoolchildren – suffered mild-to-severe injuries when a school bus crashed into a parked car on the hard shoulder of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Dubai on Saturday morning.
An Asian man had parked his Honda Civic on the hard shoulder to change a punctured tyre when the bus swerved and ran him over, killing him instantly.
The bus then hit the man’s car, pushing it off the road and seriously injuring a woman passenger.
The 15 pupils on the bus suffered injuries ranging from mild to severe.
