Heavy traffic causes delays in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI // Motorists in Abu Dhabi were asked to take caution on Wednesday morning as Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan and Khaleej Al Arabi Streets experienced heavy traffic, with congestion and severe delays reported.

One lane was closed on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street after a car broke down near the junction Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan and Al Falah Streets just after 8.30am. according to real-time traffic data from the Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport.

The department also reported slow-moving traffic on four lanes of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street, near the junction of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan and Dhafeer Streets at 8.45am.

Just after 9am, one lane of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street was closed to traffic due to a single vehicle accident.

Traffic on five lanes of Khaleej Al Arabi Street was also congested at 8.50am.

No major traffic incidents were reported in Dubai.
